Challenges and Opportunities for heterogeneous catalysis in biodiesel production

An overview of the advances in the application of heterogeneous catalysts for the production of biodiesel is presented, primarly focussed on the research of alternative and non conventional sources, able to overcome the drawbacks related with the use of food vegetable oils.
