La sfida alla sicurezza alimentare nel Bacino mediterraneo

The purpose of this task is to analyse the safety food point, as accessibility to the basic foodstuffs for the mediterranean area, whereas the demographic factor is the most influential if compared to other similar and equal structural, economic, social and political conditions. The countries of the European Mediterranean area are characterized by a slow increase in population, while the countries on the south seashore has a rapid and intense population growth, therefore in the future, there must be a bigger risk related to the vulnerability of the safety food point, caused contemporary by the strong population growth and the reliance on the foreign open market. The future challenge will be a larger euro-mediterranean cooperation in order to assure the safety food, considering the hypothesis that the African and Asian Mediterranean countries are going to be more and more dependent on the north seashore countries.
