The structure of low-density ortho-deuterium investigated through neutron diffraction

We report the results of a neutron diffraction experiment performed on an ortho-deuterium sample along the T = 35 K isotherm at several different densities (pressures less than 10 bar). The experiment has allowed the first measurement of the zero-density limit of the intermolecular contribution to the structure factor in a quantum system like D2.
