L'Irpinia dei borghi rurali: Cairano, un caso virtuoso

Living in Irpinia - 'middle earth' in the heart of the southern Apennines - means confronting each day with the theme of inland areas, the fight against depopulation that the mayors of small villages are fighting desperately. Lately attention was focused to the smaller centers, to the material and immaterial culture, to agriculture, to the landscape, to the specificities of the territory, rediscovered as the driving force for a long-desired tourism, but never made. The intervention aims to examine cases of planning and implementation of projects in smaller centers in Irpinia but also on a territorial scale, in which it is possible to find a significant link with the historical stratification of those places.
