Small Strain Stiffness by MPTs for Site Response Analysis

The cities of Augusta is a seismic areas located on the eastern zone of Sicily. The Airship Hangar in Augusta is the unique military building existing in Europe and perhaps all over the world for its dimensions. In order to analyse the response of the soil deposit to the work for the repair and reinforcement of the Airship Hangar the in situ and laboratory investigations were carried out in order to determine the soil profile and the geotechnical characteristics. Finally on the base of soil characterization data a study of site response analysis was proposed for a seismic microzonation of the areas.
