Developmental and Tumor Angiogenesis Requires the Mitochondria-Shaping Protein Opa1

Academic Article
Publication Date:
2020
abstract:
Herkenne et al. report that the mitochondria-shaping protein OPA1 is an essential component of both developmental and tumor angiogenesis. They discover a first-in-class small molecule that is specific to OPA1 and can pharmacologically target endothelial OPA1 to curtail tumor growth.
