Abstract:
The article focuses on the "rediscovery" of manuscript material from the ancient library of the S. Croce convent in Florence.
Firstly, thanks to an accurate description of MS. BNCF, Baldovinetti 147, crossed with the data deriving from the latest scientific contributions concerning the library of S. Croce and its 15th century inventory, it is possible to identify the circumstance (probably a restoration) that caused the passage of a flyleaf - considered missing until now, of MS. BNCF, Conv. Soppr. C.6.215 (coming from S. Croce) to the MS. BNCF, Baldovinetti 147.
Secondly, the article focuses on the inventories produced in Florence during the Napoleonic suppressions and on the catalogs of the Suppressed Convents collection that are still in use in the National Central Library of Florence. A comparison among them leads to "rediscover" two manuscripts with works by Bonaventura and coming from S. Croce library (BNCF, Conv. Soppr. B.9.225 and D.3.224) and not from the
Ognissanti convent, contrary to what was commonly believed.
