This note shows the results of an investigation --carried out in November 2009-- on the presence of a false portrait of Vico in the World Wide Web. This apocryphal picture, which lacks any resemblance to the Neapolitan philosopher, has been reproduced in many Internet web pages --some of them quite high- ranking.
