abstract:
When the overlap of atomic orbitals at different sites is important, what kind of ''local density of states'' do we observe in Auger spectra? We try to answer this question by extending the Cini-Sawatzky theory. We find that the line shape allows to discriminate between Hamiltonians that embody the same atomic and band structures but may predict very different spectra.
