Abstract:
In this paper we refer to the ARI-LAB system, an educational computer-based system which
combines hypermedia and communication technologies in order to allow the user to build
her/his own solution to a given arithmetic problem by navigating through different integrated
environments. In particular, we focus to the arithmetic microworlds environment which is
included in the system. The discussion on this environment will be carried out taking into
account both pedagogical and technical aspects.
