Evaluation of crambe accessions and influence of agronomic technique on yield and seed chemical composition.

Crambe is aninnovative source of raw materials for several products usuallyderived from petroleum. In 1991-92 the best accessions (according to the results of previous experimental field trials) were tested in two different Italian locations. The best yield resultswere obtained with autumn time of sowing, a seed density of 50 seed per m2, the herbicide Butisan and 80 kg/ha of P2O5, 70 kg/ha of K2O and 60-90 kg/ha of N. The erucic acid content was about 54% for both localities.
