Brexit e devolution nel Regno Unito: quando è lo Stato (e non l'UE) a mostrare i suoi limiti

Articolo
Data di Pubblicazione:
2020
Abstract:
Brexit has enormous implications on territorial constitution of the United Kingdom, on the relations between the Nations and on the unity of the country. Withdrawal from EU shows the complexity and the large numbers of competences involved in the EU integration process and, at the same time, it reveals limits and weaknesses of the very ancient UK form of state, founded on the sovereignty of Parliament and characterized by an unwritten constitution. The article analyzes some of the tensions that have arisen in the British constitutional system as a consequence of the decision to leave the EU, with specific reference to devolution and intergovernmental relations between central institutions and devolved Nations.
