Indoor Climate and Energy Requirements in Historical Buildings, "Cultural Heritage from Pollution to Climatic Change"

Capitolo di libro
Data di Pubblicazione:
2016
Abstract:
New materials, technologies and control systems are being developed over the last years to significantly reduce energy consumption and to manage more smartly and actively the building energy demand. Special attention is given to the applications in Historical Buildings and to the conservation of movable and immovable Cultural Heritage. These new concepts will reduce and manage smartly the energy required and favour the wider use of renewable energy sources at the same time overcoming the heavy barriers often present in the heritage construction sector. The improvement of the environmental conditions (indoor and outdoor) and the reduction of the energy consumption are the two main goals of the last decades. In this paper some of the main aspects to reach these targets will be analysed in case studies in different national and European projects.
