Il sistema fotogrammetrico 3DEYE per il rilievo 3D in quota: Il Bastione di Sant'Antonio in Bari

Abstract:
The architectural survey of buildings located in ancient town centres has always posed one difficulties
related to the narrow surrounding streets and to the impossibility of accessing roofs and coverings.
Although modern technologies for digital photogrammetric survey, allow for once unhoped-for
solutions, some constraints -- especially related to regulatory issues -- still remain, as is the case
with UAVs. Their use, is not allowed in areas that are identified as "critical" by ENAC (the Italian
Civil Aviation Authority) regulations, due to the presence of buildings and people. One possible
solution is the use of pole-mounted cameras, which however returns sometimes unrewarding results
in terms of image resolution. In this survey campaign, a new pole-equipped stabilized camera, the
3DEYE system developed by Microgeo, was experimented on a case study - the St. Anthony Bastion,
a defensive building dating back to 1524 - located on the seafront of Bari (Puglia).
