Abstract:
The CNR-ITC performs a special research project:
RS3 - Technical management post-earthquake:
from emergency to reconstruction, within
the three-year (2010-2013) national research
project on seismic engineering, involving university
institutes and national research centers, coordinated
by the Consortium ReLUIS (Network for
Earthquake Engineering University Laboratories)
and funded by National Department of Civil Protection.
The research is focused on several fronts
concerning data collection and study of the 6th
April 2009 earthquake, with reference to the impact
on the buildings and the land and the activities
that characterize the phase of emergency
management and the subsequent reconstruction.
Among the products of the research currently
being completed, there is the creation of geo-referenced
database on the census of Aquila earthquake
damage. One of the most important products
derived from the analysis of the damage and
usability database. The paper summarizes the
study being completed that involve processing
for defining damage probability matrices of different
construction types in the municipalities affected
by the earthquake. The results are also a
significant contribution to the knowledge of the
Italian Seismic Risk and the purpose of the GEM
Project (Global Earthquake Model), an initiative
of the Global Science Forum of the Organization
for Economic Co-operation and Development
(OECD - OECD).
