Growth, longevity and natural mortality of sand sole (Solea lascaris Risso, 1810) were estimated by reading of thin section otolith. Samples derive from commercial catch of trawling in the Strait of Sicily. Estimated age ranged 5 (one male and one female) and 12 years (one female). Growth pattern were described by the von Bertalanffy model (L‡=39.34} 7.144, k=0.175 } 0.117, t0=0.402 } 2.149).
