Soft Interaction and Colloidal Stability of Nanocarriers in Drug Delivery Applications
Academic Article
Publication Date:
2020
abstract:
Objective: We discuss the main factors that influence the
nanocarriers colloidal stability and their interaction with
biological media during drug delivery applications. We also
discuss some strategies that can be developed in order to
overcome the biological barriers, and for development of advanced
drug delivery systems.
Methods: Small angle X-rays
and Neutron Scattering,
Dynamic Light Scattering, Raman spectroscopy, Z-potential,
Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy.
Results: We investigated the complex behaviour of some nanocarriers,
including amphiphilic block copolymer, dendrimers,
liposome, and shape amphiphiles composed of modified
amphiphilic cyclodextrin, and their interaction with cells
and model bio-membranes.
