Specifying and implementing systems for end-user development.

The paper presents an approach to the specification, design, and implementation of visual interactive systems that are tailored to users' needs, preferences, culture, skills, background, and that also permit End-User Development. The approach adopts a star life cycle [10] and provides software engineering techniques based on rewriting rule systems, which are then translated into programs.
