After some considerations about the problems of the flooding in the Salento peninsula, in Southern Italy, this contribution illustrates an investigation carried out for the evaluation of hydraulic risk. In particular, an approach based on GIS techniques and quali-quantitative modelling at various levels of analytical detail has been applied, which aims at overcoming the limits of the resolution and data completeness degrees.
