Additive manufacturing of miniature combustors

Abstract:
Additive manufacturing allows producing three-dimensional components, layer by layer, directly from the mathematical model of the object. It includes a large family of technologies each of them dedicated to a single material (metal, plastic, concrete,...), even if hybrid equipment are also available. In this work, Selective Laser Melting (SLM, am400 Renishaw plc., with SS316L metal powder) and Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM, Stratasys, with ABSplus material) technologies are implemented in order to produce a Thermoelectric Generator (TEG) which consists of a miniature combustor prototype coupled to thermoelectric modules
