Abstract:
This project focuses on the characterization of street-artists' materials and their ageing processes. The
"Street Art" artistic movement consists in the creation and exhibition of artworks in a public and/or a private
place. This work deals with graffiti art made with aerosol paints, which is one of the most widespread techniques
used by the artists together with the brush. Spectroscopic and chromatographic analysis permitted to
characterize the molecular composition of the organic components of the paint and to determine the chemical
markers, creating a spectral database to be used in the investigation of the different street-art works.
