Achieving sustainable cultivation of maize

This chapter reviews the importance of maize production and types of maize cropping systems grown under temperate conditions with special focus to the situation in the US and Europe. It discusses the current status for weed management, herbicide resistance issues evolved after continuous use of herbicides, and suggests integrated weed management for achieving more sustainable maize production.
