Per lo studio dei lessici tecnico-scientifici medievali: le prospettive del Lessico Medievale della Medicina e dell'Alimentazione

The paper introduces the project called "Lessico Medievale della Medicina e dell'Alimentazione" (LeMMA) (Medieval Lexicon of Medicine and Cookery) that aims to create a map of the textual resources in the field of medicine and cookery and, on the other hand, intends to measure the impact of scientific terminology in the linguistic repertoire of the Italian speech community. The results of the project will be collected in a web portal consisting of two sections that concern lexical studies on medieval vernacular texts dealing with cookery and medicine (directed respectively by Sergio Lubello and Rosa Piro) and a third section, called LeMMArio (directed by Mariafrancesca Giuliani), that will contain onomasiological and semasiological tables and maps compiled particularly on the basis of lexicographical dates. We describe below the three perspectives of the lexical research.
