The genus Dinophysis in the Southern Adriatic Sea.

Some preliminary results of a survey carried out along the Southern Adriatic coasts (Brindisi -S. M. di Leuca) are reported in order to contribute to the knowledge of the phytoplankton community in this area. Ten Dinophysis species had been identified, four of them are known to be invlved in DSP mussel contamination. Spatio-temporal distribution of Dinophysis spp. is shown.
