The knowledge base approach in the epsilon project

The project aim is studying how the data base technology can improve the performance of a logic machine and how an existing DBMS can be endowed with the inference power of a logic machine by incorporating it into a KBMS. Starting from the similarity between relational database concepts and logic based deduction we will investigate some of the aspects which underlie the definition of KBMS in terms of integration of the data base technology and the logic programming technology.
