L'industria delle macchine per la produzione della pasta alimentare: evoluzione storico-economica

abstract:
The Italian food machinery and technology industry is one of the most technologically advanced business in the mechanical instruments and the companies operating in this field retain energy and modernization skills that allowed Italy to hold a leading position in the global market. The importance of examining in detail this subject from a historical and economic point of view comes from the fact that Italy is currently the third largest producer/exporter of food machinery and technologies all over the world, only surpassed by Germany and U.S. However, Italy holds a leading position in the machinery industry for the production of typical Mediterranean foods (oil, pasta, canned vegetables), ensuring that the trade balance of our country is positive. This volume presents the results of a study that aimed to provide an updated overview of the plants that goes beyond the sector analysis and gives an idea on the outlook in the immediate future. The research is the result of a collaboration between CERIS - CNR, Torino, and the Sezione di Genova, branch of ISEM - CNR, which combined the economic results of the sector, the market structures, the historical sources, the many interviews with the companies, the phases that have marked the passage from traditional systems to mechanized and automated systems (evolutionary phases of technology), the relationship between corporate history and territory in order to analyze the relationship between the traditional Mediterranean food production and the success of the Italian manufacturers in the global market.
