Assignement of crews to train in railroad network

In this paper we consider the assigment of personnel of a railroad company to trains. As well known, the complexity of the problem makes it pratically impossible to take into account, in a mathematical model, all the real aspects. For this reason, here an approach has been adopted which links a rigorous model of a certain part of the problem to an approximate treatment of other parts.
