Abstract:
The technique for detaching frescoes and transferring them to new support has been used until the XIX centuries, during the first sixty years of the 20th century, the detachment of wall paintings was a common practice to preserve frescos. The aim of this work was to study assess the conservation risks of detached wall paintings of the Green Cloister in Santa Maria Novella, in Florence, due to the deterioration of the support and its deformations.
