Dissipative Effects in Josephson Junctions Coupled to Real Transmission Lines

Abstract:
Inclusion in the analysis of dissipative effects that are inherent in the transmission line constituting the load of a Josephson junction leads to more or less appreciable modifications of the action variation ?S. This quantity, which enters in the determination of the decay time of the superconducting metastable state of the junction, critically depends on the computational model adopted.
