'Mugnoli': a neglected race of Brassica oleracea L. from Salento (Italy)

''Mugnoli'', a neglected race of Brassica oleracea L., is described from Southern Italy (Salento, Apulia). In this race, the young inflorescences together with a few leaves are harvested for use as a cooking vegetable. ''Mugnoli'' might be considered as an early step in the evolution of broccoli (B. oleracea L. var. italica Plenck).
