Gold nanoparticle synthesis using water extracts from different plants

Until recently the spectacular development of nanotechnology has been carried out with little concern to its potential effects on human health and the environment. For instance, no specific regulations have been issued on nanoparticles except existing rules which cover the same material in bulk form. However, we believe that Green Chemistry metrics need to be incorporated into nanotechnologies at the source and for this purpose we have performed the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in a set of ecofriendly and mild chemical conditions. In particular, for their synthesis we used water extract from plants hydroponically pretreated or not with different metals (Au, Cu, Ag and Ni)
