Early detection and intervention systems in children with hearing loss: overview on current trends and potential benefits

An update of the current trends and technologies for early hearing detection and intervention (EHDI) in case of permanent congenital hearing loss will be given. Particular attention is given to the feasibility of EHDI programs, the current regulations and guidelines, and to the outcomes related to early diagnosis and intervention in terms of language, cognition, and social-emotional development.
