This article is an analysis of institutional and political relationship between King Peter IV of Aragon and the Judge of Arborea Mariano IV, at the mid-fourteenth century, by applying the Michel Foucault's "archeological" methodology to the documents of the "Procesos contra los Arborea "held at the Archivo de la Corona de Aragon in Barcelona. This reading highlights the creation of different political, legal, and cultural "discourses" made by the two leaders before coming to the war.
