The use of treated wastewater for crop irrigation

The shortage of water and the increasing need for food due to the expanding world population and for irrigation purposes, both in respect to quality and quantity (SDG 6), render reuse an indispensable practice. Wastewater treatment and reuse offer important environmental and economic advantages, independent of the cost of both practices.
