The incomplete nature of the historical sources regarding the Knights Hospitalier in Sardinia does not allow an appropriate reconstruction of the events. Nevertheless it seems possible to proceed to further investigations due to recent discovery of the heritage documents dating back to Modern Age and the accurate examination of the land settlement in the island during that period.
