The influence of non-equilibrium vibrational distributions on the transport coefficients of an N-2-N mixture is examined by using the generalised Enskog method. The results show that the state-to-state approach is necessary, especially when the vibrational distribution is far from a Boltzmann distribution. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
