abstract:
In the last twenty-five years, the contributions of detailed mineralogical, chemical and isotopic investigations to the understanding of
the Stromboli Volcano behaviour along its eruptive history have been of fundamental importance. We report a brief review of the
most significant contributions to the geology and stratigraphy of the subaerial part of the volcano, to the understanding of the possible
link between collapses and explosive eruptions, and to the recognising the dynamics and configuration of the present-day plumbing
system.
