Gli Isopodi terrestri dell'Appennino umbro-marchigiano (Crustacea, Oniscidea)

Academic Article
Publication Date:
1994
abstract:
Forty-one species of terrestrial isopods are recorded from the central Apennines between the Marecchia and Esino rivers. One species, Haplophthalmus fiumaranus Verhoeff, 1908, is a new record for the Italian fauna. Eight poorly known species (Trichoniscus zangherii Arcangeli, 1952, Haplophthalmus monticellii Arcangeli, 1922, H. fiumaranus, H. abbreviatus Verhoeff, 1928, Paraschizidium coeculum (Silvestri, 1897), Armadillidium clavigerum Verhoeff, 1928, A. marinensium Verhoeff, 1928 and A. anconanum Verhoeff, 1928) are discussed and illustrated. Paraschizidium olearum Verhoeff, 1917, Illyricosphaera subterranea Verhoeff, 1933, Titanosphaera myrmicidarum Verhoeff, 1933, Paraschizidium menozzii Arcangeli, 1933, P. lianae Legrand, 1956, P. vignai Argano e Utzeri, 1973 and P. sbordonii Argano e Utzeri, 1973 are all considered to be junior synonyms of Paraschizidium coeculum. The composition and zoogeography of the oniscidean fauna of the area are discussed.
