abstract:
The influence of Nb codoping is studied in PbWO4:Mo scintillator. The
measurements of radioluminescence, thermoluminescence, scintillation decay
and light yield show that steady-state radioluminescence efficiency of
PbWO4:Mo,Nb scintillator with the optimised doping concentrations becomes
comparable with BGO. However, slow components in the decay appear down to
several tens of microseconds, which results in LY increase of about factor
3 only compared to an undoped PbWO4. The existence of slow decay
components may be related to relatively intense thermoluminescence peak
round 230 K.
