MEMBRENONES - NEW POLYPROPIONATES FROM THE SKIN OF THE MEDITERRANEAN MOLLUSK PLEUROBRANCHUS-MEMBRANACEUS
Academic Article
Publication Date:

abstract:
The first chemical study of a pleurobranchoidean opisthobranch is reported. Three new polypropionates
(membrenone A. B and C) have been characterized from the marine gastropod Pleurobranchus membranaceus . Their anatomical localization in the skin of the mollusc suggests a potential defensive role against predators.
