A new small scale pilot plant for the study of the pollutant formation in oil flames

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
1994
abstract:
heavy oil is an important fuel for power generation through combustion. More detailed information are required on the different stages of the spray combustion of heavy oil to reduce the pollutant emissions with particular regard to carbonaceous particles and to NOx. In order to have well controlled esperiment for the study of the oil spray flames, a new burner with a maximum power of 100kW was built and was inserted in a cylindrical refractory furnace 0.36m ID and 2.5m tall.
