The use of HL7 in the domain of Medical Devices

Abstract:
The paper describes the approach used to design and develop a Medical device information system (MEDIS) focusing in particular on the description of the Domain Analysis Model (DAM) of medical devices as well as on the conversion of the HL7 RIM meta-model into a logical data model.
