The rôle of the informatics in the management of the medical data. The paper intends to answer to some questions of primary interest in the management of the medical data. It analyzes the characteristics of such a data, their collection, conservation and elaboration, in particular with reference to the contents in the medical records. It examines the rô1e that the informatics may have in the management of the medical records emphasizes the opportunity to adopt a methodology in the collection of the data permitting an easier management and utilization. The conclusion is, in fact, to invite who would discuss the subject management of the medical data to take into consideration some fundamental elements.
