Vignale (Falerii Veteres). Topografia dell'insediamento

The Author illustrates the results of a research work focused on the settlement of Falerii Veteres, (Civita Castellana), with particular reference to the hill of Vignale NE of the present city, which was probably the original nucleus of the ancient town. The analysis is based on the examination of previously acquired data, relating in particular to the excavations carried out at the end of the Nineteenth century and to new data obtained through a survey carried out on the site. The examination of the defense system, the drainage system, evidence relating to material goods and architectural works of a sacred nature allows for the reconstruction of the various phases of the settlement.
