abstract:
This paper addresses the numerical simulations of electrograms in an anisotropic model of the left ventricle.
To accurately compute electrograms (EGs), inside or outside the myocardial wall, a special numerical technique is taken into account. The EGs were compared with those directly recorded from isolated dog hearts immersed in a conducting medium during ventricular excitation and epicardial stimulation. The same multiphasic structure was observed for the recorded and simulated EGs. The typical EG morphology was studied considering a splitting of the EGs into an axial and a conormal component and taking into account the effect of a drift component associated to the reference potential.
