Device Design Considerations in the Excitation of Magnetostatic Volume Wave Solitons

In this chapter, the general device requirements for the excitation of solitons in magnetostatic volume wave delay lines are discussed. In particular, the power thresholds needed for solitons, and the fequency and wavevector shifts indiced by th onset of the nonlinear effect in real device structures will be predicted.
