abstract:
In this paper we describe a new system to support students in acquiring cognitive strategies to control and monitor the comprehension of on line resources. After a short introduction presenting some studies conceming the application of metacognition in leaming environments based on ICf, we illustrate the main features of Gym2Leam, a system developed at our Institute, within the framework of the CORFAD research project. Through the system, students can acquire cognitive strategies and an awareness of how to use them; then, using the features of the system, they can put into practice on the Web alI the strategies acquired to improve their understanding of the educational contents.
