Recentlyithavebeendescribedthatinnovativemethods,namelySuperSpatialResolution(SSR),canbe
used toimprovethescintigraphicimaging.TheaimofSSRtechniquesistheenhancementofthe
resolution ofanimagingsystem,usinginformationfromseveralimages.Inthispaperwedescribeanew
experimentalapparatusthatcouldbeusedformolecularimagingandsmallanimalimaging.Infactwe
present anewdevice,completelyautomated,thatusestheSSRmethodandprovidesimageswithbetter
spatial resolutionincomparisontotheoriginalresolution.Preliminarysmallanimalimagingstudies
confirm thefeasibilityofaveryhighresolutionsysteminscintigraphicimagingandthepossibilityto
havegammacamerasusingtheSSRmethod,toperformtheapplicationsonfunctionalimaging
