abstract:
This study examines the studies of Luigia Achillea Stella devoted to Marcus Aurelius. The aim of
these studies is to demonstrate the fully Roman quality of The Thoughts and the singular
combination of Romanitas and Stoicism realized by the imperial ideology of the second century
after Christ. Care has been taken to highlight the «existential historicism» of Luigia Achillea Stella,
a true antidote to the totalitarian ideology of the ego.
