abstract:
The essay analyzes the different types of urban roots depending on the institutional realities to which they refer. In a large span ranging from the Byzantine period until the late Middle Ages has been offered a reflection on the role of political, military-strategic and economic development of small towns in different contexts-state actors who succeeded in medieval Sardinia. they are therefore highlighted discontinuities and radical changes of land use and human rootedness in the island.
